Secondary Filter Application

Secondary Filter Application

Sensor to Valve Distance (SVD) =

SU-1 and SU-2 Suppression Units: Velocity (feet per minute) divided by 60 multiplied by .3

SU-3 Suppression Units: Velocity (feet per minute) divided by 60 multiplied by .4

Sensor to Abort Gate Distance (SAGD) =

4"- 43" diameter:  Velocity (feet per minute) divided by 60 multiplied by .5

44" diameter:  Velocity (feet per minute) divided by 60 multiplied by .6

 Water Requirments:

Water volumes and pressures vary for each suppression assembly.  This requirement is carfully engineered from reliable information provided by the customer. Field data sheet accuracy is critical.

 Sensor Location Guidelines:

To reduce lens wear it is recommended that sensors (S-1) be installed with a minimum of three (3) pipe diameters of straight duct prior to their location.  This will also allow sparks generated in high abrasion areas to extinguish themselves, therefore minimizing the number of alarms.

Recommended location of second set of sensors (S-2) to be one (1) 'SVD" beyond the suppression unit.

 Suppression Unit Location Guidelines:

Nozzles to be located to allow for a minimum of three (3) pipe diameters between nozzles and collector/filter inlet.
